Camden will become America’s music village once again Thursday, July 4, with the Camden Rotary Club’s Music by the Sea presenting three ensembles performing American music. But festivities aren’t just limited to the Fourth.

The Festival of Independence schedule is:

Thursday, July 4

Camden Rotary presents: Music by the Sea, from noon to 5 p.m.

Featuring Maine's own MOJO, New Relm and the Bath Municipal Band. Hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available. Located in Harbor Park. All free, bring blankets or chairs.

Bay Chamber Concerts presents: The Engagements from 7:30 to 9 p.m.

Dance the night away to classic funk and soul covers, '80s favorites, and everything in between. Free in Harbor Park beginning at 7:30 p.m. and concluding with the annual fireworks display 9 p.m. over the water.

Friday, July 5

Great Schooner Race, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Penobscot Bay between Rockland and Camden. More than two dozen tall ships gather for an all-day race in which guests may participate. This year marks the 37th anniversary of North America’s largest annual gathering of tall ships. 800-807-WIND, 207-374-2993, sailmainecoast.com.
