Joshua Curry of Warren graduated from Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. in May. He currently is attending Naval Flight School in Pensacola, Fla. Curry will be there for approximately a year and a half, before he graduates as a Naval Flight Officer.

The 2008 graduate of Medomak Valley High School was on the track and soccer teams, and YMCA swim team. He was involved with Big Brother/Big Sisters, and was an active member of the Damariscotta Christian Science Church. He was a Boy Scout in Camden and an Eagle Scout.

Curry graduated from Principia College in Elsah, Ill. in 2012, where he majored in physics. While at Principia he played on the college rugby and swim teams. He started the Black Rose Fencing Club at Principia and taught fencing classes at the college.

He was a teaching assistant for the physics department. He was also a member of the solar car racing team for all four years, racing in both the United States and Australia. He studied abroad in Mongolia during the summer of 2010.

Curry is the son of Jim and Susan Curry, previously of Warren. He has three siblings.
