The Camden Lions Club recently held their installation dinner to induct new club officers for the fiscal year 2013-2014.

Lion James Christie was installed as this year’s president, coincidentally his father Lion Tom Christie, was also a president of the Camden Lions Club. Like father, like son.

Other officers installed are: Lions Frank Carr and Michael Castle as vice-presidents, Lion Brenda Miller as secretary, Lions Peter and Karen Martin as co-treasurers, Lion Larry Gross as chaplain, Lion James Kierstead as membership chairman, Lion Bob Hamalainen as tail twister and Lion Pat Hamalainen as lion tamer.

Directly after the installation, Past President Lion Frank Carr presented Lions Teddy Wilcox and John McKay with a Melvin Jones Fellow Award. This award is presented to a Lion for dedicated humanitarian services to their community and Lions in general. Past Melvin Jones Fellow awardees choose who will receive this award, keeping it a secret until the very end. This was a complete surprise to both members.
