Arts in Rockland will host a First Friday Art Walk on July 5 from 5 to 8 p.m. Everyone is invited to visit the city’s 23 downtown galleries located on Main Street from Water to Summer streets; the side streets around the Farnsworth Art Museum — Elm and Oak; and Winter Street, which will be closed to vehicular traffic so the Rock Coast Roller derby contingent can have its way. The museum will be open and free during the AIR event.

Writer and art critic Carl Little calls the Rockland art scene among the most vibrant in Maine. Art Walks are held on the First Friday of every month from May through December; look for the AIR banners. For information on participating galleries, visit artsinrockland.org.
