We can’t for the life of us figure out why our wonderful Birch is still waiting for someone to give him a home of his own. Birch loves people and likes to cuddle and play, and he has the brightest, sweetest eyes we’ve ever seen. Perhaps he’s often overlooked because his modest coloring doesn’t make him stand out, but for personality, charm and all-around joy he can’t be beat. Please stop in and meet him. It’s past time for someone to recognize him for the very special cat he is.

It’s time for our darling Beau to go to a home of his own too. This perky fellow loves to go on walks and ride in the car and he is looking for someone with whom he can share all the love in his nature and cuddle up with and spend time in the shade under a tree. Beau has grown really tired of his kennel and would rather be in a home. We agree. Give this sweetie a good look. If you don’t lose your heart, yours isn’t working!

A huge thank you to the students at Capt. Albert Stevens School in Belfast, the first-grade class at East Belfast Elementary and the junior and senior high classes at Camden Hills Regional High School for collecting food and items for P.A.W.S. The terrific people in all three groups brought in tons of dry dog and cat food, treats, bleach, paper towels and dish soap! We are so happy to have students in the community who care about the homeless animals who are making a temporary stop — we hope! — at P.A.W.S. We wouldn’t be able to care for our wonderful residents without tons of support from everyone in the communities that we serve.

Did you know that P.A.W.S. helps with homeless or abandoned animals in the following towns: Belfast, Camden, Islesboro, Liberty, Lincolnville, Northport, Rockport and Searsmont? If you live in one of these towns and your dog or cat goes missing, check with us to see if he or she was brought in.

Thank you to everyone who participated in our PAWS on Parade this past Sunday. Stay tuned for pictures and a list of winners.

Check out our website for a full list of available dogs and cats. We’re pretty sure you’ll find your fur-ever friend there.

As always, we need non-clumping cat litter, canned cat food and dry cat food. You can leave these items in our foyer or stop by and drop them off anytime. We truly appreciate all of the donations we receive.

Please stop in and see us and all our gorgeous gals and guys at 146 Camden St. in Rockport. We’re open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, our phone number is 236-8702 and pawsadoption.org is never closed! And thank you, as always, for your caring and support.
