Rockland Rotary Club has awarded $800 to Broadreach Family & Community Service’s Youthlinks Program. The funding will support free summer camp. Rockland area middle school students have been invited to apply for the week-long summer day camp sessions.

Youthlinks summer camp provides young people with service learning, skills, enrichment and recreational activities designed to promote involvement with volunteerism and community engagement. It also provides opportunities to explore careers, improve physical fitness, and experience hands-on learning. Camp also helps students retain and gain knowledge that might otherwise have been lost over the summer vacation from school. This summer’s camps include Farm Camp in collaboration with Headacre Farm of Owls Head and Sailing Camp in collaboration with the Apprenticeship of Rockland.

The mission of the Rotary Foundation is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty. The charitable giving of the Rotary is supported through its membership and Friends of the Rotary.
