Our pet pick of the week is Eva. She is a real beauty with jet black fur and golden eyes who loves attention. Eva is one of 43 cats that came to the shelter in late January from an unfortunate hoarding situation. She and her fellow "Ice Cats," dubbed that because they were rescued during some of the most bone chilling temperatures this winter, have been cared for and re-socialized by our patient and devoted staff and are waiting to be adopted. Now, during Adopt-A-Cat Month their adoption fee, as with any adult cat at the shelter, is only $25. Several of the Ice Cats are still very wary of humans but would make excellent barn buddies. If you have a working barn or outbuilding there are cats that need you. By providing a safe shelter and daily food and water you can help these cats have a permanent home, in turn, they can help you by keeping the rodent population down. Barn buddies are available for no fee and are spayed/neutered and vaccinated before being placed.

It's KITTENPALOOZA! With dozens upon dozens of kittens at the shelter and in foster care who are ready or almost ready for adoption and more kittens arriving almost daily we need homes for them all. For a limited time only, we are reducing the adoption fee for a kitten to just $50, regularly $90. All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, testing, flea treatment, de-worming and a free medical exam from a participating veterinarian.

Thank you to all who participated in our 6th annual Eat for Pete’s Sake, from every one of you who dined out to each of our fabulous restaurateurs (and congenial staff) who are donating a percentage of their proceeds to help the lost, abandoned and stray animals at the PMHSKC. We appreciate your support.
