Our pet pick of the week is Josie a skinny little, 3-year-old Walker Hound who came to the shelter with an undiagnosed medical condition, which had left her emaciated. At the PMHSKC, she's getting the care she needs and is gaining weight. She is a very sweet, special girl who is looking for a home. Do you have room for Josie? Josie is also our "Pete" in our 6th annual Eat for Pete's Sake fundraiser today, Thursday, June 13 where participating local restaurants will donate a portion of the day's profits to care for Josie and all her fellow shelter buddies. Eat for Pete's sake and Josie's too today at one of the following restaurants: Athen's Pizzeria, Atlantica, Badger Cafe & Pub, Blue Sky Cantina, Come Spring Cafe, Craignair Inn and Restaurant, Fresh Restaurant, Harbor Gawker, Hatchet Mountain Publick House, Home Kitchen Cafe, In Good Company, Offshore Restaurant, Park Street Grille, Primo Restaurant, Rockland Cafe, and Thomaston Cafe. Tell the restaurant you're there to eat for Pete sake. Thank you for your support.

We continue to offer adoption specials during Adopt-A-Cat Month. All month long we're reducing our adoption fee on adult cats to just $25. And, for a limited time only, we are also reducing the adoption fee for kittens down to an amazing $50. All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, age appropriate vaccinations, testing, flea treatment, de-worming and a free medical exam from a participating veterinarian. With well over 150 cats and kittens at the shelter and in foster care, we are sure to have the perfect feline companion to fit your family.
