Three brief, intensive courses are planned for this summer at Penobscot School.

Espanol en el verano will convene for four consecutive Wednesdays from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the school beginning Wednesday, July 10. Billy Smith, a bilingual Spanish/English instructor is successful at working with adult learners and enjoys working with motivated learners of all ages. At the first class meeting, students and instructor will identify language goals for the class and work on strategies to meet them. Students who love the language can learn a lot in a month.

Japanese calligraphy with Nobuko Kamecke also begins July 10 and will continue once weekly for five consecutive weeks from 4:45 to 6 p.m. at the school. Those interested in this course will welcome the instructor’s patience, flexibility and positive, gentle attitude toward those interested in learning.

Italian for Travelers will be offered Saturdays, July 13 and 20, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with native speaker, Eleonora Mella. Complete with all materials and an Italian lunch prepared by participants, this class prepares students for travel opportunities and includes hands-on learning through role plays and demonstrations, speaking practice, cultural information and a practice booklet for home study.
