“We’ve Got Class!”, a two-town exhibition of instructor and student work from art classes with Angela Anderson Pomerleau, invites the public to artists receptions for work currently on view at Port Clyde’s Ocean House Gallery and Thomaston’s Highlands Coffee House.

The back-to-back receptions are scheduled for: Friday, June 21, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Ocean House Gallery at Ocean House Hotel, overlooking the harbor in Port Clyde; and Saturday, June 22, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Highlands Coffee House, Main Street/Route 1 in Thomaston. Refreshments will be provided, with more available at The Highlands counter.

Most of the paintings, watercolors and drawings are for sale at affordable student prices and will remain on view through the month June. Anderson’s art class has been running for 18 months, in the Thomaston Academy building for the past year. Students exhibiting include Shirley Anderson of Owls Head, Sherry Dec of Edgecomb, Valerie Garrigan and Laura Nelson of Thomaston, Alicia Hammat of Tenants Harbor, Eleanor Kinney and Nancy Warren of Spruce Head and Mikky Ames, Pat Ryan and Trish Weisbrot of Cushing. Instructor Pomerleau has hung pieces painted as demonstrations in class as part of this show.

The class is ongoing, and welcoming new students now. Pomerleau teaches drawing and painting to students and artists from absolute beginners to those already exhibiting their work. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, yet serious.  Morning art classes are held on Mondays and Thursdays with all traditional painting media welcome, oil, acrylic and watercolor, as well as drawing. In addition, a new evening course on painting from the model began this month. For more information, call 372-6172 or send email to angelaandersonpaintings@gmail.com.
