Penobscot Theatre Company, the nation's most Northeastern year-round professional theater company, seeks a year-round apprentice to assist in production, lighting, carpentry, sound, rigging, costuming, properties and stage management for the 2013-2014 season.

Through collaboration with directors, administrators, designers, teaching artists and professional production teams, apprentices gain hands on training and cultivate lasting relationships with other artists. Apprentices should be highly motivated individuals with a desire to learn and accept new challenges. Members of the apprenticeship program become a vital part of the team at PTC and many have gone on to have successful professional careers in the arts.

"I got my start interning at theaters around the country. Those experiences absolutely shaped the career I have and the person I am today. I not only learned every aspect of this business, but I remember those internships with such a degree of personal fondness,” said PTC Artistic Director Bari Newport.

One full-time, 10-month position is available for Bangor-area based high school and college graduates with strengths in carpentry, costumes, lighting and stage management. The position includes a weekly stipend of $100. To apply for this apprenticeship, submit a cover letter, resume and a letter of recommendation. An entrance interview will be required.
