The Union town report has been dedicated to Union Area Chamber of Commerce and its members past and present.

In 1894 the Union Board of Trade was formed and reorganized to the Union Chamber of Commerce in 1955, now called the Union Area Chamber of Commerce, including towns of Appleton, Washington, Hope, Waldoboro and Union.

The chamber has been very active in Union and is involved in many venues that provide positive benefits to Union and its surrounding communities. The Union Area Chamber is organized for the purpose of advancing the commerce, industrial and civic interest of Union and its trade area, according to information provided by the town.

Over the years the UACC has help sponsor events such as Founders Day, the annual Christmas tree lighting, roadside clean-up day, sponsored youth recreations programs. In addition the chamber helped create Ayer Park, assisted in street signage in the early years and has been instrumental in building the community.
