One-hundred and twenty eight students graduated from Medomak Valley High School in Waldoboro June 5.

"The community is what brings us success through love, support, and encouragement," said Maria Ennamorati as she began her salutatory address to the Class of 2013.

Ennamorati and valedictorian Emily Leach paid tribute to their classmates and the community through words from such musical legends as The Beatles, Queen, John Lennon, Rihanna, and Tom Petty.

"The memories we have made at Medomak are unforgettable. Take them with you next year, but leave room for the new experiences that come your way," said Leach.

Samantha Wadsworth sang the national anthem and Vincent Vannah, senior class president, gave the opening greeting. Classmate Grace Jameson sang a musical selection "The Call," and athletic director Matthew Lash gave the evening address.

Numerous students received scholarship and awards, totaling $193,353.

Diplomas were presented by Principal Harold Wilson and Superintendent Susan Pratt.

The MVHS teachers did not march in with graduates, but took their respective seats at the front of the gymnasium — where they received a standing ovation from the graduating class for their support throughout the years.
