Noted local glass artist Penny Gentle has taken her art in a new direction using copper as a comprehensive medium. The premiere showing of this work is at Russell's of Camden Fine Jewelry, 20 Mechanic St.

Gentle’s creations by fold-forming and anticlastic raising are highlighted and enhanced with traditional and modern techniques of patina, coloration and enameling. She said her transition from creating sealife and flowers in molten glass to three-dimensional sculpture as jewelry and adornments has been a fascinating journey.

Russell's is open Thursdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call 236-4367 or visit pennygentle.com.
