Hannaford Supermarkets will host two grand reopening events — at the Rockland and Camden stores — Saturday, June 15 to celebrate improvements to both stores that make it easier for customers to find all the products they need.

The celebrations both begin at 7 a.m.

Each store now offers hundreds of additional natural, organic and gluten-free products. New equipment, including heat-reclaiming refrigeration units, improves environmental sustainability. Camden added a pharmacy and on-site sushi chef; Rockland has a larger variety of cheeses and meats.

“These improvements are focused on meeting the needs of people living, working and visiting that specific community and shopping at that particular Hannaford store,” said Eric Blom, Hannaford spokesman, in a news release. “Customers will appreciate changes such as the new Camden entrance for easier in-and-out and Rockland’s expanded pharmacy waiting area.”

Hannaford invites customers to help celebrate the completion of this work at an event on June 15, with gift cards and other prizes; coffee, juice and treats; and $10,000 in donations presented to community groups.

The first 300 customers at each store will receive a gift card, randomly valued between $5 and $250. Customers throughout the day will have a chance in each location to enter drawings for a $1,000 gift card, beach-themed basket valued at $500 and other prizes. Coffee, juice and goodies will be provided and activities held.

“Customers will like the store’s increased selection of products ranging from wine to all-natural food and over-the-counter health items,” said Bob Josselyn, Camden store manager. “We have added more than 3,000 products overall.”

With new flooring, fixtures, aisle-navigation signs and equipment, the stores also have been refreshed to improve the shopping experience.

“We hope that people can join us on the 15th to see the store’s fresh look for themselves,” said Tim Grasse, Rockland store manager.
