Local duo Dusty & Joanna will perform during the Thomaston Farmers’ Market Saturday, June 8, outside the Thomaston Academy building at 60 Main St./Route 1. The market runs from 9 a.m. to noon; the music will begin 10 a.m.

Dusty & Joanna are folk musicians who have been playing acoustic music and living in the Midcoast area of Maine for the past dozen years. Joanna’s main instrument is her voice but she also plays the six-string guitar. Dusty’s main instrument is the autoharp, but he also plays guitar and has been spending some of his golden years coming to terms with a mandolin that is even older than he.

Dusty & Joanna blend their voices in rich harmonies around a repertoire that is an eclectic mix of songs ranging from The Carter Family and public domain folk songs to gospel, bluegrass, songs of the sea and covers of Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson, Robin and Linda Williams and Ian Tyson, to mention but a few.
