Winding Way Watercolors, 39 Union St., will open a show called “New Paintings” June 7 during the city’s First Friday Art Walk from 5 to 8 p.m. The new paintings will cover a variety of subjects including sea scenes from the British Virgin Islands, women enjoying the ocean, gnomes, daffodils aprons, summer flowers and frogs.

Many of Anne McMath’s watercolors feature brightly colored clothing or fabric. Kathy Lane offers watercolor on top of crayon resist, which resembles a wallpaper pattern. And Diana Maddocks will be showing her stained glass creations for the first time during the art walk.

Regular summer hours for the gallery are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Winding Way also has a gift shop that sells notecards, prints of the artists’ work, watercolor supplies and art lesson books for the traveling or beginning watercolorist. Two bed and breakfast rooms are available on the second floor of the house. For more information, visit or call 593-7955.
