Mt. Olivet Lodge 203, in Washington, has again made the generous donation of six bicycles and helmets to the summer reading program, Bikes for Books, at the Gibbs Library, in an ongoing joint effort to instill a love of books in youths.

Children from all towns are encouraged to participate. This program is open to all children, including those who cannot yet read themselves, but have books read to them.

Each child will be given a log book to write down the titles of books read. Stickers will be entered into a log book by the number and types of book read. Every sticker comes with a coupon to enter the drawing to win a bicycle and helmet specific to their size and gender. Reading more books increases the chance of winning a bicycle.

A certificate for an ice cream cone from Sweet Seasons Café in Washington will be given to all readers when their log book is half full.

The drawing for bicycles and helmets is scheduled for Aug. 24.
