Forester Andy McEvoy will lead a Low-Impact Forestry & Small Woodlot Management workshop at Merryspring Nature Center Saturday, June 15, from 10 a.m. to noon.

This workshop is designed for aspiring arborists and small woodlot owners who are looking to manage their property in a best-use, sustainable way. The presentation will start indoors before transitioning outside for a walking tour and assessment of Merryspring’s woods. Guests will have the opportunity to ask many questions and relate the concepts presented to their home properties and situations.

McEvoy is the Low Impact Forestry Coordinator for MOFGA, where he designs forestry-related learning opportunities to promote responsible management of woodlots. McEvoy graduated from Colby College in 2009 with a degree in biology.

This is an outdoor lecture, so participants are reminded to wear sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing for this event. To best accommodate the group, this workshop has a limit of 12 people. The cost of the workshop is $5 for Merryspring members, $10 for nonmembers. To sign up, please contact Merryspring at 236-2239 or
