On Friday, June 7, at 7:30 p.m., the Sail, Power and Steam Museum will present a concert by Isla Duo. The acoustic pairing of vocalist Deborah Packard and Scottish guitarist Peter Cairney, who met in Nashville, have been delighting audiences with music rooted in the Celtic tradition since 1995.

This musical duo bridges two traditions, from British Isles ballads to haunting counterparts from the mountains of Appalachia. They bring stories to life through engaging settings of voice and instruments including guitar, mountain dulcimer, harmonium, tin whistle and bodhran.

Admission is $12; call 701-7627 for tickets. Sharp’s Point South and the Sail, Power and Steam Museum are at 75 Mechanic St. For more information on the museum and its programs, call 701-7627 or 596-0200; email sailpowersteammuseum@gmail.com; or visit sharpspointsouth.com.
