On Friday, June 7, at 5 p.m., Harbor Square Gallery, 374 Main St., will begin its 33rd summer season with an exhibit titled “Harold Garde 90-90-90.” At the beginning of his 90th year, Garde made a rather extraordinary resolution — to produce 90 works in 90 days. Everyone is invited see the results and celebrate the Belfast artist and Maine Master on his birthday, June 7.

The 90 pieces are all Strappos, a printing technique invented by the artist. Selections from this remarkable explosion of creativity form the centerpiece of the show, which also includes several larger works on canvas produced during Garde's 90th winter.

Another opportunity to fete Garde will present itself on the eve of the birthday celebration at Harbor Square. On Thursday, June 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., Cellardoor Winery & Vineyard’s The Villa, intersection of routes 1 and 90 in Rockport, will open a show of Garde's work. This exhibit is comprised mainly of works exhibited in 2012 at the Museum of Florida and will run through the month. Garde also will be present at a gala dinner in his honor at Cellar Door Winery & Vineyard in Lincolnville Tuesday, June 11; for information and ticketing, call the winery during business hours at 763-4478.
