In keeping with a long-standing tradition of at least 60 years, the Waldoboro Lions Club held its Honor Banquet recently at the Meenhaga Grange Hall in Waldoboro.

The banquet honors the top-ranking female and male students in each of the four classes at Medomak Valley High School.

Medomak Valley Principal Harold Wilson and Assistant Principal Andrew Cavanaugh presented each individual honoree to the Lions Club, Lions guests and other in attendance by telling about the outstanding accomplishments of each honoree during the present academic year.

King Lion, Tom Jordan, conveyed to the honorees and the group his admiration for the accomplishments of each student and wished them the best of luck in the future.

The Lions were most impressed by the honoree's records and again enjoyed the traditional evening recognizing the youth of the Regional School Unit 40 community.

Those at the banquet enjoyed a wonderful lasagna dinner catered by Jessica Barbour and her staff.

Once again the Lions Club thoroughly enjoyed carrying on the tradition of having the Honors Banquet. Everyone left the affair with a sense of great pride.
