On Friday, June 7, the Farnsworth Art Museum and the Strand Theatre will present the third 2013 showing of the international short film series, Rockland Shorts. Titled Life and/or Death, the screening will take place at 8 p.m. at the Strand, 345 Main St. After the showing, the audience is invited to continue the conversation at 3CROW Restaurant & Bar, 449 Main St.

Begun in 2012, Rockland Shorts is an ongoing series of short creative films that strive to show contemporary independent film productions from around the world. These films help to define the digital generation without restriction to culture, format, formula or genre. This evening will include an hour of short art films, followed by interviews with directors present in the Strand or appearing via Skype.

The Life and/or Death lineup features opening film “Green Eye” by local filmmaker Walter Ungerer; “The Event” (UK); “Acrobat” (France); “The Other Dave” (USA); “Post Modem (USA); “Marcel” (Belgium); “Grandma’s Not a Toaster” (USA); and “A Series of Kinetic Sets” (USA). Program Director for Rockland Shorts is Sally Levi. The films in the series are not rated; some contain adult language and sexual content and are not suitable for young audiences.
