Local artist Catinka Knoth will lead a series of free drawing classes for adults on creating birds and floral or berry motif art and cards Mondays in June at 11 a.m. in the Friends Community Room of Rockland Public Library, 80 Union St.

Participants will create art using pencils, colored pencils, crayons and scissors, with an emphasis on drawing in color. Each week is different bird and plant combination. Knoth will give instruction and guidance. She invites students of all levels to come make art in this communal and diverse environment.

The June subjects will be: June 3, Hummingbirds & Rhododendron; June 10, Cardinals & Lilacs; June 17, Cedar Waxwings & Cherries; and June 24, Bluejays & Bluebirds with Strawberries & Roses. Knoth provides the classes free of charge, with materials supplied. Friends of Rockland Library host the workshops, which are open to the public.
