The June meeting of Keep S’myelin will be held Thursday, June 6, 11:30 a.m. at Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice at 170 Pleasant St.

An awareness group for those with multiple sclerosis, their caregivers, and friends, Keep S’myelin is affiliated with the Greater New England Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Alexandra Degenhardt, MD, will address the group at June’s meeting on the subject of new and emerging MS treatments. As the number of FDA approved drugs continues to grow, and there remain a good number of drugs in the pipeline likely to be approved for marketing in the next few years, MS therapy decisions become more complex for those with MS, those close to them and their clinicians. As a part of the neurology staff at Pen Bay Health Care, Degenhardt is constantly studying these new treatments and she is eager to share this information with the group.

Keep S’myelin meeting programs are varied, often including speakers addressing various subjects of interest to the group, but the group is taking the summer off and this is the last Keep S’myelin meeting until September. For more information please call Tom at 354-0285 or Brian at 236-2307.
