Following meetings held in Owls Head and Thomaston regarding the future Regional School Unit 13 schools, Rockland school board representatives have organized a third hearing.

It will be held Thursday, May 30, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Rockland City Hall.

School board representatives from Rockland include: Donald Robishaw, William Pearce, Nancy Jeffers, Carol Bachofner and Chairman Tess Kilgour.

RSU 13 has begun an examination of all 11 schools in the district to determine what buildings will be used and whether to move the ninth-graders back to Oceanside High School East in Rockland. They currently attend Oceanside High School West in Thomaston.

A move earlier this year to merge Rockland District Middle School and Thomaston Grammar School was ultimately defeated by the board.

A similar meeting was held in Owls Head May 14 and in Thomaston May 19.
