Maine cartoonist Jeff Pert will visit the Mildred Stevens Williams Memorial Library Saturday, June 1, from 10 a.m. to noon. With his notorious creativity and humor, he will offer two student workshops — Character Creation and Telling a Cartoon Story — which will guide students through the process of creating their own graphic cartoons.

These back-to-back workshops are free to students age 8 to 14 and are provided by a Samuel Rudman Grant through the Maine Community Foundation. Pert's merchandise and book, “Cartoons from Maine,” are recognizable throughout Maine and the United States, along with his web-based cartoons and cartoons in Down East Magazine.

To register, call the library, located at 2916 Sennebec Road, at 785-5656.
