The Rig will host a fundraiser dance Friday, May 24, from 7 to 11 p.m. at Watts Hall, Main Street/Route 1.

The dance is open to all Midcoast high school students; entrance fee is $5. There will be door prizes, a glow-in-the-dark T-shirt-making contest and a dance performance by Kinetic Energy Alive, which offers dance classes that build confidence, self-esteem and create an outlet for self-exploration and expression. DJ Sparky will spin great dancing tunes.

The Rig is a community-oriented meeting place in Camden for young people in grades 9-12. It provides an abundance of opportunities for youth to develop and pursue their ideas, realize their potential and build friendships while learning leadership and team building skills.

The evening will provide a space for students from different schools to hang out and have a good time. The Rig will offer refreshments and baked goods for sale. Watts Hall is chem-free, and the dance is a substance-free, adult-supervised event.
