There will be music, music, music during June at the Rockport Public Library, 1 Limerock St. Residents are invited to learn to play a song, strum along or write some tunes with guidance from local musician Alice Limoges. Limoges will offer free workshops on four Saturdays in June; all run from 2 to 3 p.m.

On June 1, there will be a Kids Ukulele Workshop, designed for a younger audience. On June 8, a Folk and Finger Picking Workshop will help participants work on different finger-picking techniques; the session is designed for medium-level players, who should bring a guitar. On June 15:, a Jazz Harmony and Jazz Playing Workshop will cover the basics for those Interested in jazz who want a bit more hands-on experience with using chords, chord progression and harmony when playing their guitars. On June 22, a Song Writing Workshop will spend the first 30 minutes with youngsters wanting to try their hand with songwriting; the second half is more appropriate for more experienced musicians.

Limoges’ first CD, "Not Gonna Fall Asleep Tonight," showcases jazz, ukulele and guitar; she is working on her second CD, "Suns and Moons." Limoges began playing and writing music at an early age. She plays her music Friday evenings at the Blue Sky Cantina in Camden and is college bound.
