The Union Farmers Market begins its third season Friday, May 24. The market will be held on the Common in Union each Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. through early October.

The market will offer an opportunity for community members to come together each week in the heart of Union to purchase fresh, locally grown and produced goods, hot food, and more.

Continuing with its tradition of integrated food, learning, and community, the farmers market will again complement its food offerings with music, readings, craft demonstrations, and healing arts offerings.

The opening market on May 24 will feature the Midcoast Spinners, demonstrating the craft of turning wool into yarn. Musical offerings on tap for the summer include harpist Millie Crocker and the Ale House String Band. The Vose Library will lead children’s readings several times over the summer. Weekly events will be posted in advance on the UFM website and Facebook pages.

Union Farmers Market welcomes the following new members this summer: Offshore Bakery, Cowboy’s Salsa, Erskine Farms, Proud Peasant Farm, and Sweet Life Bakery.
