Long honored by Mid-Coast School of Technology

ROCKLAND — Mid-Coast School of Technology recently recognized Devan Long, as its 2012-2013 Maine Administrators for Career and Technical Education Student of the Year. Long and 24 of Maine’s top career and technical education students were honored in Lewiston April 27.

Long is a senior at Mid-Coast School of Technology and Oceanside High School. She currently is enrolled in the automotive collision and repair program.

U.S. Representative Michael Michaud presented the awards to the honorees.

 

2013 Summer Day Camp

ROCKLAND — Come and enjoy this summer the Rockland Rec way at its Summer Day Camp.

Games, crafts, activities everyday and a weekly field trip. Lunch is provided by Regional School Unite 13 Summer Food Service Program. Limited to children age 5 through 12.

Day camp is based at Johnson Memorial Park and runs Mondays through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The first day is Monday, June 17 and the last day is Friday, Aug. 23.

A.C.E. Summer Camp

WARREN — ACE offers an on-site school based summer camp at Warren Community School for families with children ages 5 to 12 in School Administrative District 40.

It will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. There will be age appropriate group trips three times a week during this summer. Some plans include swimming at area beaches, lakes and tidal pools, and swimming pools, hiking , FunTown, Aquaboggan, Wild Acadia Park, Great Skates, Maine Jump, movies and finding positive ways of interacting within the local communities.

On-site activities will be offered too; arts and crafts, games, opportunities for individual learning and group playtime, creating and using their very own water slide, gardening, 4-H, nature trail exploration, work and habitat activities. Children are also encouraged to bring their bikes, but they must have and wear a helmet.
