Business is Blooming in Camden is set for May 16 to 19 in Downtown Camden.

The second annual event is collaboration between Camden Downtown Business Group with support from Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce and the town of Camden.

This new springtime event in its second year will be celebrating all things food in Camden this year and more than 30 new and existing foodie-related businesses in Camden and is being held to both honor, established businesses in Camden, as well as welcome new business owners and businesses to the area. Locals and visitors alike are encouraged to visit Midcoast Maine and specifically Camden’s favorite retailers, inns and this year, especially restaurants and come shopping to thank all their favorite businesses.

All area businesses are helping to promote this new springtime event as a way to say thank you to all businesses and to extend that down home Maine hospitality to all of Camden’s new business owners. All will be encouraged to stay, eat, relax and shop local and thank all of the wonderful businesses during this weekend celebration.

Business owners both old and new will be together again on the evening of Thursday, May 16, to celebrate with a New Business “Celebrate a Taste of Camden” Welcoming Party and the highlight of the evening will be what food is brought by new and established food-related business owners.

All will enjoy unique fare from new lobster rolls, to French-inspired appetizers, rustic pizza and freshly baked bagels. The new business welcome party will take place at The New England Real Estate Company located at 2 Bay View St., beginning at 5 p.m. Then all visitors to Camden will enjoy extended shopping hours and sidewalk sales all weekend long including shops open until 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 6 p.m. Saturday, May 18, and 5 p.m., Sunday, May 19.
