Giving back to the community is something Jan and Eric Campbell hold close to their hearts.

“Giving Back” is a program started by the Campbells through their newly acquired business — Rockport Automotive — to raise money for local nonprofit organizations in the community. A donation of $5 from every oil change is given to a different organization at the end of each month. Five Town Communities That Care was the recipient for the month of April and awarded a check for $300.

“We are so pleased to be able to give back to an organization that is near to our hearts,” said Jan Campbell. “This was our first of many to come and to give back to the community we grew up in is very important to Eric and I.”

P.A.W.S, an animal adoption agency in Camden, will be the recipient for the month of May.

If a nonprofit organization is interested in more information on becoming part of the program, Jan Campbell can be contacted at

Rockport Automotive is also going to celebrate its new ownership with an open house scheduled for May 18 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Heidi from 105.5 FRANK fm will be at the Route 1 business for a live report and visitors can tour the business and meet the technicians. Knox County Yellow Dot Program and A.A.A will also be on hand, the Campbells said.

In June, Rockport Automotive will continue its “Knowledge is Power” series with a teen tech class for teenage drivers. Teenagers will have the opportunity to be taught by ASE certified mechanics basic automotive skills. A.A.A. will be on hand to educate the teens on distracted driving.
