Regional School Unit 40 Board of Directors will hold a public hearing on its proposed 2013-2014 fiscal budget Thursday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at Medomak Valley High School.

The school board had previously approved the $22.15 million budget at its regular meeting April 11. The budget poses a .62 percent increase for the five-town area.

The increased percentage represents a 2.60 percent or $42,795 increase for Friendship, .19 percent  or $3,805 decrease for Union, 1.22 percent or $55,821 increase for Waldoboro, 2.15 percent or $71,347 increase for Warren, and 1.93 percent or $24,771 increase for Washington.

Following the public hearing, a district budget meeting will be held Tuesday, May 28, at 7 p.m. at MVHS. Final adoption of the budget will take place Tuesday, June 11.
