Mary Josephine Burns, 86, longtime Rockland resident, passed away April 19, 2013.
She was born Sept. 16, 1926 in Old Town to Frederick A. and June Scott Burns of Old Town. Mary graduated from Old Town High School and enjoyed reading, bingo, collecting and cats.
She is predeceased by her parents, two sisters, Gladys McCullen and Margaret Sinclair, nephew Frederick P. Knight and her loving companion, Charles M. Currier.
She is survived by two sisters, Jane S. Knight of Bangor, Frances P. Keeran and her husband Henry of Maine and Florida; one brother Frederick A. Burns and his wife Dorothy of Fayetteville, N.C.; nephew Patrick M. Keeran and his wife Tess of Bangor, as well as many other nieces and nephews around the country.
