Rockland police are investigating the disappearance of two vehicles.

In the early morning of April 18, an unregistered pick-up truck was located at United Parcel Service in the Rockland Industrial Park, said Rockland Police Department Deputy Chief Wally Tower.

Police said they saw a person in the vehicle, who then ran from the truck and was not located during a search of the area, said Tower.

"There was no knowledge of whose it was or what it was doing there," he said.

By strange happenstance, the vehicle was recovered before it was reported stolen, Tower said.

The owner of the truck called police to report it missing the next day, at about 11:30 a.m., Tower said.

The keys were in the vehicle when it was taken.

The case is under investigation and there are no suspects at this time.

Police are also investigating a Jeep that went missing from a driveway at eight Linden Street in Rockland, Tower said.

The Knox County Sheriff's Office is also investigating a stolen 2011 Kia Sorento in Warren, reported missing April 17. As of April 22, it has not been found.
