The following is a synopsis of the 2013 Camden Hills Regional High School boys tennis team:

Coach/years coached current team: Chris Walker-Spencer, 11th season.

Last year's record/playoff information: 9-3, No. 3 seed in Eastern Class B. The Windjammers were eliminated by No. 6 Foxcroft Academy of Dover-Foxcroft 4-1 in the quarterfinals. Camden Hills also competed in the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B championship, falling to Lincoln Academy of Newcastle.

Roster: Seniors Mark Belley and Eddie Socker; juniors Matt Clark and Peter Vannorsdall; sophomores James Annis, Eric Blohm, Drew Holt, Quinn Holt and Austin Pohlman; and freshmen Shawn Albertson, Luke Burstein, David Flint, Alex Forcillo, Josh Pitcairn and Nick Tassoni.

Outlook: The Windjammers will experience a youth movement, having graduated eight seniors, including John Vannorsdall, Evan Drinkwater and Sam Predham, who were the team's top three singles players.

Six freshman are on this year's squad, along with five sophomores, leaving the Windjammers looking for leadership.

"Despite our youth, we definitely have some kids that can hit the ball and are talented players," said Walker-Spencer. "I wouldn't necessarily call this a rebuilding year, but we have to learn what it takes to compete at the varsity level in high school. My prediction is we'll be a much stronger team at the end of the season than we are at the beginning."

Pohlman, Belley and Burstein are locked into the first, second and third singles slots, while the two doubles teams are up in the air, the coach said. Pohlman, a sophomore, is the most experienced player on the team, having broken onto the high school scene in a big way last year.
