The North Atlantic Gymnastics Academy Level 3-7 and Excel girls gymnasts competed in the state championships Friday and Saturday, April 5-6. The event was hosted by Decal Gymnastics at the Alfond Youth Center.

NAGA had multiple individual event state champions in various levels.

Level 3

In the 7-year-old division, Ella Graffam placed third on balance beam (9.075). Graffam also finished sixth all-around with a score of 33.6. Bailey Curtis placed eighth all-around at 33.4 in the same group.

Competing in the 8-year-old division, Julia Peasley placed second on vault at 9.45 and 10th all-around at 32.275. Kayla Reardon placed sixth all-around (34.425) and Elise Condon ninth at 31.15.

In the 9-and-older age division Chloe Fordyce placed fourth on vault (9.475) and eighth all-around at 32.5. McKenna LaBrozzi finished seventh all-around at 33.75. Haley Black placed fourth all-around at 35.925 and won the balance beam title (9.35).

The Level 3 gymnasts placed fourth.

Level 4

In the 9-year-old division, Leanna Cotton placed fourth on vault (9.1) and fifth all-around at 35.325. Cotton posted her personal-best scores on vault, beam and all-around at the meet.

In the 10-year-old division, Genevieve Tempio-Wilson placed 11th at 35.05. This also was Tempio-Wilson's personal-best all-around score.

Audrey Scott placed fourth on vault (9.275) and third on floor (9.3). Scott also placed second in the all-around at 37.15. In addition Scott also won the individual balance beam title at 9.425.

In the 11-and-older division, Eleanor Greer placed eighth in the all-around at 34.4.

The Level 4 gymnasts placed sixth.

Level 5

Lauren Schenk of Rockport competed in the 7-8-year-old division. Schenk placed third on vault (8.3), bars (8.675) and beam (8.5). Schenk was fourth on floor (8.825) and third all-around at 34.3.

Level 6

Marta Denny of Rockport and Meghan Gallagher of Rockport participated in the 12-and-older division. Gallagher placed fourth on floor (8.8) and sixth all-around at 33.75. Denny placed second on balance beam (8.975) and fifth all-around (34.1).

Level 7

MacAllister Moss placed 11th all-around at 33.825 in the 10-12-year-old division. Whitney Dow placed fourth on bars (8.525) after successfully completing her giant swing in competition for the first time. Dow also placed ninth all-around at 32.1.


Ashley Kenniston of Warren and Kaylee Casas of Washington competed in the gold division. Kenniston placed fourth on beam (9.0) and 13th all-around at 32.75 in the 12-and-younger division.

Casas competed in the 13-and-older division as she finished 10th all-around (33.1).

Casas has qualified to represent Maine in the first Excel Regional Championship in June in Massachusetts and Kenniston is an alternate for this competition in her age division.
