Douglas Paul Adams of Cushing and Yarmouth Port, Mass. passed away suddenly Monday, March 11, 2013.

He was the beloved husband of Brenda J. Adams for 41 years. He is also survived by his father John J. Adams and mother Arlene Adams of Grafton, Mass, on sister and four brothers, numerous family and extended family members along with countless friends and wonderful neighbors.

Douglas proudly served four years in the United States Coast Guard during the Vietnam era with trips to the Arctic and Antarctic. He retired from Verizon after 37 years as an equipment installer in 2001. He was an avid woodworker and active member of the Northford Timberframes, a group that is dedicated to raising barns throughout New England to raise funds for organ donor and transplant awareness.

A funeral was held March 15 at First Congregational Church of Yarmouth in Yarmouth Port. Internment followed at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Mass.
