The Oceanside High School girls lacrosse team is about to enter its second season of play and will start that campaign with a bang, by hosting three other squads in fun-filled preseason action.
The play day event will be Saturday, April 6 on Pendleton Field and include Camden Hills, Lewiston, Winslow and host Oceanside.
The action starts at 9 a.m. and runs through 3 p.m., with each team playing three games.
The games will be 40-minute running time. Timeouts are allowed and the clock will stop after goals.
The schedule of games/events include:
Oceanside versus Camden Hills, 9 a.m.; Winslow versus Lewiston, 9:45 a.m.; Oceanside versus Winslow, 10:30 a.m.; Camden Hills versus Lewiston, 11:15 a.m.; lunch and/or possible shootout and goalie competition, noon to 12:30 p.m.; Camden Hills versus Lewiston, 12:30 p.m.; Oceanside versus Lewiston, 1:15 p.m.; first- and second-place teams face off for championship, 2:15 p.m.; and awards and raffle drawing, 3 p.m.
"This will be a great day of lacrosse camaraderie as well as a bit of a fundraiser for our club team," said Oceanside coach Angie Vachon. She added there will be an admission charge, concessions, t-shirts for sale and raffle items.
