The North Atlantic Gymnastics boys team finished second in the state championships March 16 at the Bath YMCA. The Midcoast youngsters placed second to Maine Academy Gymnastics from Westbrook.

In addition to the team award there were many individual titles won by the following local athletes:

Ben Craft of Hope finished first all-around for the 9-10 age division with a 56.0. Craft also won individual titles on still rings (9.9) and high bar (10.1). In addition to his individual titles, he also was second on pommel horse (8.8) and second on parallel bars (9.0).

Second to Craft in the age division in the all-around was Cameron Hedstrom of Camden at 54.8. Hedstrom placed second on still rings (9.7), parallel bars (9.6) and vault (9.1).

Torr Denny of Rockport was the parallel bar state champion in the 9-10 division at 10.2. He also placed second on high bar (9.6) and third on vault (8.8) and still rings (9.6). His all-around of 54.2 placed him fourth, missing third by 0.1.

In the 7-8 division, Ben Schenk placed sixth with 55.9. He was fourth on pommel horse (9.5) and parallel bars (9.4).

Owen Berez of Camden placed 12th all-around in the age division, scoring 51.7. Berez's top finish on an individual event was fourth on vault at 9.2.

Noah Thackeray of Rockland placed 14th all-around in the age division at 50.5. Thackeray's top individual finish was second on still rings at 9.8.
