The Camden Hills ice hockey team's participation in the Western Class B playoffs will begin an hour earlier than initially scheduled.

The No. 2 Windjammers (14-4) will play No. 3 York (8-10) in a semifinal playoff game on Friday, March 1 at 5 p.m.  — not 6 p.m. as originally scheduled — at the Androscoggin Collisee in Lewiston.

Camden Hills, fresh off capturing the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B championship with an exciting 5-4 double-overtime decision over Messalonskee of Oakland Feb. 23 at the Sukee Ice Arena in Winslow, has played the Wildcats twice this season.

Camden Hills and York split two regular-season games, with the Windjammers winning 9-3 and the Wildcats winning 6-3.

In Western Class B, Camden Hills finished second and Greely of Cumberland (14-4) finished first in the seven-team region. The top five teams qualified for the playoffs.

In the quarterfinal playoff Tuesday, Feb. 26, No. 5 Cape Elizabeth (8-10-1) beat No. 4 Yarmouth (6-11-2).

The semifinals will be Friday, March 1 at the Colisee, with No. 2 Camden Hills facing No. 3 York at 5 p.m. and No. 1 Greely meeting No. 5 Cape Elizabeth at 8:30 p.m. There will be a Boston Bruins Legends' game between the two high school games. Tickets to either of the two high school games will include the ability to watch the old-time Bruins.

The high school team survivors will battle in the regional championship game on Wednesday, March 6 at 7 p.m. back at the Colisee. During the regular season, Camden Hills lost to Greely twice (9-1 and 4-3 in overtime) and beat Cape Elizabeth twice (2-1 and 5-4 in overtime).

The state championship game will be Saturday, March 9 at 1 p.m. at the Colisee. Still in the championship mix in Eastern Class B are No. 1 Messalonskee, No. 4 Hampden Academy, No. 6 Presque Isle and No. 2 John Bapst of Bangor.
