A Rockland man was arrested in connection with multiple vehicle burglaries during the weekend when police acted on a tip from the city's public works department.
Robert Sukeforth, 41, was apprehended Feb. 24 following an investigation by the Rockland Police Department stemming from a notice of footprints in the snow leading to multiple vehicles in the vicinity of Meadow Way.
A male subject was reportedly seen running from the area after plow crews arrived at about 12:30 a.m., said Rockland Police Deputy Chief Wally Tower.
Sukeforth has been charged with 16 counts of motor vehicle burglary, 10 counts of attempted motor vehicle burglary, and a single count of possessing burglary tools.
Tower said the investigation remains open to determine if Sukeforth is connected to other burglaries in the city.
Bail has been set at $1,500 cash and Sukeforth remains in jail as of Feb. 26.
