Officials from School Union 69 are expected to elect Denis Howard as interim superintendent at a special meeting Thursday, Nov. 29.

The meeting of the School Union 69 Joint Committee is scheduled for 5:55 p.m. at Camden Hills Regional High School. At 6 p.m., a five town board is expected to meet to discuss standards-based education, according to the agenda.

Howard will replace superintendent Tom Marx, who is retiring Jan. 1. Howard will be elected to serve from Jan. 1 to June 30, 2013, according to the agenda.

The district, which oversees operations at the Hope, Appleton and Lincolnville elementary continues to advertise for a full-time superintendent.
