A Rockland man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover on Route 17 in South Hope.

Knox County Sheriff Donna Dennison said in an email on Nov. 21 that Brian Edgecomb, 48, of Rockland, died at the scene of the Nov. 20 evening crash.

The crash was reported at 8:29 p.m. when Edgecomb's 1999 Volkswagen left the road and rolled, striking a tree, according to Dennison's email. Edgecomb was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Dennison said the crash, which took place near Pushaw's Trading Post, is being reconstructed by Knox County Sheriff's Deputy David Johnson. The vehicle Edgecomb was driving was "completely destroyed" in the crash, according to an email from Dennison.
