The Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Live Auction will take place Friday, Oct. 14 at the Rockland Elks Lodge. About 100 items will be up for bidding at the lodge, located at 210 Rankin St. The live event starts at 5 p.m. (preview from 5 to 6 p.m.), with the live bidding starting at 6 p.m.

The featured item this year at the Chamber auction is a Fisher HT Series snowplow from Fisher Engineering, valued at $5,240. The Fisher HT Series snowplow is engineered for today’s half-ton trucks, providing all the features expected from Fisher in a standard-duty snowplow. The HT Series feature’s Fisher’s Minute Mount 2 On/Off system, Intensifire Halogen headlamps and the original Fisher trip edge design.

In addition to the live auction items there will be cash raffle prizes (six – $100 cash raffles), a 50/50 cash raffle, raffle items, cash bar and a concession stand. Bruce and Becky Gamage will be the auctioneer team. There also will be a $500 Elimination Drawing at the live event. The Elimination Drawing board consists of 100 numbers being sold at $20 each, in which one winner will receive a cash prize of $500. Every half-hour, starting at 6:30 p.m., 20 numbers will be randomly selected and removed from the board until only one number is left. This person will receive $500 in cash. In addition, there will be raffle drawings of items and services every half-hour at the live auction starting at 6:30 p.m.

Money raised by the auction will go towards supporting the many community and business initiatives of the Chamber in making the area a great place to live and do business. These initiatives include: Marketing and public relations, economic development, publications, including the Maine Discovery Coast Magazine and Chamber Business (newsletter), government and public affairs, maintaining and building membership and volunteer base, operating annual events, education initiatives
