On Saturday, Oct. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon., Food for Life instructor MiMi McGee will lead a guided exploration of how a diet rich in vegetables, fruits, grains and legumes – combined with a decreased fat intake – can help individuals diagnosed with breast cancer reduce their risk for recurrence of cancer as well as be supported on their healing journey.

McGee will provide information on how various foods and other factors affect breast cancer risk, prevention and prognosis. These findings come exclusively from scientific studies and are updated as new research becomes available. The goal is to provide breast cancer patients, survivors and those interested in lowering their risk for breast cancer with information to help them prevent and survive breast cancer.

Participants will also get to enjoy cooking demonstrations, taste healthy, delicious dishes and share experiences in a supportive group setting.

This class will be held at the Picker Family Resource Center, 3 Glen Cove Drive, Suite 2, in Rockport and is being offered at a reduced rate of $15. Space is limited, so kindly register in advance. For more information or to register for the presentation, please call 596-8950.
