Reference staff at the Rockland Public Library will offer a workshop on business research tools Tuesday, Oct. 18 at 10 a.m. This workshop is for those involved in business, non-profit organizations, as well as job seekers looking for new sources of business intelligence. Learn how to use library databases to find company analysis, industry reports, financials, and company histories. Also learn how to construct and sort a list of local businesses to find new customers.

In-depth business research on the Internet can be tricky – authoritative sites like Standard & Poors ask for money, and other commercial sites can be questionable. One’s library card unlocks free, authoritative, and commercial free business resources like Business & Company Resource Center and Reference USA – web sources not visible to search engines like Google. Access these library databases from home or office with a library card number.

This workshop on “hidden” business resources will take place in the Friends’ Community Room in the lower level of Rockland Public Library; 80 Union St. in Rockland. Library laptops are provided.
