A new collaboration began this year between Five Town CSD Adult Ed and Bay Chamber Concerts, promoting Bay Chamber’s renowned educational programs. The next offering this semester will be Reading Music, taught by Mary Anne Driscoll of Belfast.

This course is offered for music lovers and performers who are rusty or unfamiliar with reading conventional notation. Students will learn how notes are translated into music.  Each class includes lecture, written and workshop exercises, a question period and study guides that develop skills for reading music in treble and bass clefs.

All materials are provided for this class, which is held at Bay Chamber’s facility on Central Street in Rockport village. The class will run Thursdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for six weeks beginning Oct. 20. To register or for more information, call Five Town CSD Adult Ed at 236-7800, option 5, or visit fivetowns.maineadulted.org.
