Medomak Valley Land Trust’s Young Friends of the Watershed group is hosting a fall hike and wine tasting at Sweetgrass Winery & Distillery on Saturday, Oct. 8. Young Friends of the Watershed is a group of conservation-minded 21 to 45-year-olds who are committed to enjoying and protecting special places in the Medomak River watershed.

Those who are interested should arrive at Sweetgrass Winery & Distillery, located at 347 Carroll Road in Union at 4 p.m. for a hike on the Carroll Farm Trail that navigates through 70 acres of varied terrain: open fields filled with grazing sheep, sugar maple stands, and a beautiful floodplain along the Medomak River. After the hike, participants are invited to enjoy a tasting featuring locally made wine and spirits.

This event is free and open to the public. Participants should come prepared with warm clothes for the hike and proper footwear for hiking diverse terrain. To only participate in the tasting, arrive around 5 p.m.
